LEBANON, PA- The Highlander's golf team competed against 18 other teams at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Invitational this afternoon.
The Highlanders traveled to the demanding Lebanon Country Club for this afternoon's tournament, Lebanon boasts one of the most difficult holes in all of Pennsylvania with the par 4 11th. As a team, the Highlanders could not find much balance with two excellent performances from their more experienced golfers, and a valuable learning experience from their less experienced golfers. Cairn's standout freshman
Ryan Borrmann carded a 76 to come into the clubhouse 6 strokes off the lead and 4 over par for the afternoon. Borrmann continued his excellent start to his college career with an 11th place finish out the 90 golfers in the field. Senior
Mike Boucher also carded an impressive 81, leading to a 27th place finish overall in this talent-rich tournament. Boucher's 81 was the second-lowest number of his career, and the senior appears to be well on the pace to breaking his prior low of 78. Nate Borrmann, in just his second college start, came in with 100, and
Mark Heater rounded out the Highlanders' efforts with a 130.
Andrew Cornish and David Herbst tied for the lead with a 2 under par 70, however Herbst would take medalist honors with a birdie on the second playoff hole.
Cairn continues their busy week at Ravensclaw Golf Club tomorrow at the Ursinus College Fall Invitational.
