TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. – The Cairn University men's golf team wrapped up its 2021-22 season in a dual match with Clarks Summit University at Stone Hedge Golf Club on Monday afternoon. This match marked the final collegiate match for Highlander senior Ryan Borrmann (Warminster, PA / William Tennant) who concluded his historic career as the undisputed best player in program history after five years with the team.

"Ryan has shown great composure, attitude, leadership, growth, maturity, restraint, understanding, competence, faith, dignity, patience and Christ-like behavior both on the course during tournament play and off the course with not only his teammates, his fellow competitors and, frankly, anyone he interacts with." Remarked Head Coach Shawn Davis. "He is the example of behavior and sportsmanship that all Cairn athletes should attempt to achieve."

Borrmann led the Highlanders for the final time on the course, taking individual medalist honors on the par-71, 6,537-yard track with a five-over par round of 76 to top the nine-player field by 19 strokes. Borrmann was followed by sophomore Danny Smullen (Palmyra, PA / Mount Calvary Christian School) with a round of 100 (+29) to finish in solo third place, while graduate student Joe (Theo) Matos rounded out the day for the Highlanders after coming into the clubhouse in 125 strokes.

As mentioned, Borrmann finishes his career as the most distinguished player in program history. Borrmann finished his tenure with four individual tournament victories, a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Individual Championship title and holds nearly every statistical record, ranging from scoring average, lowest round, most victories and top-five finishes.
