Men’s Golf: Borrmann Claims Six-Shot Victory at Arcadia Spring Kick-Off Classic

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Cairn University men's golf team continued its traditional spring season at the two-day Arcadia Spring Kick-Off Classic at Eagle Ridge Golf Course on Friday and Saturday.
 
Cairn senior Ryan Borrmann (Warminster, PA / William Tennant) highlighted the weekend for the Highlanders by winning Individual Medalist honors, topping the 36-player field with a two-day score of 149 (+5). Borrmann held the lead by a single stroke after posting a round of 76 (+4) after day one at the par-72, 6,690-yard track. Borrmann followed up his day one round with a one-over par round of 73 on Day Two to win the title by six shots, his fourth career collegiate victory.
 
As a team, the Highlanders placed seventh with a two-day team score of 842 (427, 415). Graduate Student Eric Jacobs (Dillsburg, VA / Northern York) followed with a two-day score of 213 (106, 112) to finish in 30th place, while sophomore Danny Smullen (Palmyra, PA / Mount Calvary Christian School) finished one spot behind with a score of 218 (106, 112). Graduate Student Joe Matos rounded out the weekend for the Highlanders with a two-day mark of 262 (136, 126).
 
Cairn will be back on the course on Tuesday, April 5 when it travels to Stonewall to compete in the Ursinus Spring Invitational at 12 p.m.
