WARMINSTER, Pa. – The Cairn University men's golf team continued its traditional spring season, competing at Five Ponds Golf Club in a quad-match on Monday.
Three Highlanders competed on the day, led by senior
Ryan Borrmann (Warminster, PA / William Tennant) who scrambled for a 10-over par round of 81 on the par-71, 6,672-yard track to finish in solo-seventh place in the 18-player field. Borrmann was followed by sophomore
Danny Smullen (Palmyra, PA / Mount Calvary Christian School) with a round of 96 (+25) to finish in 16
th place, while graduate student
Philip Nathan (Fort Washington, PA / Upper Dublin) came into the clubhouse with a score of 105 (+34) to place solo 17
th.
Penn State Abington, the host institution, claimed the team title with a score of 325 (+41) and Rutgers-Camden freshman
Patrick DeMareo won the individual title with a score of 75 (+4).
Cairn will be back on the course on Tuesday, April 19 when they head to Ledgerock Country Club to compete in the Alvernia Invitational at 12 p.m.
