Yardley, PA – Cairn University men's golf hosted their annual Spring Invitational on Wednesday and teed off against Eastern University and Penn State Abington. The Highlanders finished in third place for the day with a total score of 371, while Eastern and Abington tied at the top with a 321.
Adam Green led the Highlanders with his, and the team's, best round of the season. Green's 82 was good for a tie for sixth place overall.
Mark Huseland carded a 91, followed by
Craig Kikendall with a 96 and
David Dager with a 102 to round out the scorers.
Eastern's Ryan Torresin finished as the individual winner with his +3, 75. Teammate Matt Cocorikis was right on his heels with a 76 for the round. Penn State Abington's Mike Lam rounded out the top three finishers with his round of 77.
Penn State Abington was awarded the overall win for the day after a match of cards. Eastern had only brought four golfers with them so a comparison of the fifth golfer went in favor of the Nittany Lions.
The Highlanders will return to the links next week when they travel down to Rising Sun, Md., for an invitational hosted by Eastern University.
