ResultsHuntingdon Valley, PA - Cairn University men's golf is competing in the Colonial States Athletic Conference championship tournament this weekend and finished in seventh place overall after putting in scores of 358 and 377. The tournament took place at the Philmont Country Club, where the Highlanders recently competed in a match to preview the course.
Round OneCairn finished with a 358 after the first round, which is just two strokes off their best performance of the 2015 spring season. The Highlanders are currently ahead of Rosemont College (424) and Baptist Bible College (476) and are only trailing Centenary College by one stroke (357). Marywood University are in the lead after the first 18 holes with a card of 326.
Ian Zang currently leads the team with a 15th-place performance of 86 (+16); he is followed by
Adam Green (89),
Josiah Buss (90), and
Mark Huseland (93).
Craig Kikendall carded a 114 on the day, unable to find his stroke.
The Highlanders will look to jump ahead of Centenary College tomorrow, as the weather looks promising. Cairn's first player will tee off at 10:20 a.m.
Round TwoThe Highlanders carded a second round score of 377 and were unable to get an edge on Centenary in sixth place. The Cyclones also shot a higher score in today's round (370) but finished 12 strokes ahead of the Highlanders in the overall tournament. Marywood won the championship with a round two score of 314; one stroke better than Cabrini's 315.
The Highlanders were once again led by
Ian Zang, who carded another round of 86 to finish in an overall tie for 17th place.
Adam Green (92) and
Mark Huseland (96) both shot three stokes higher in today's round than yesterday's.
Josiah Buss finished with a 103 in round two.
For Cairn, the result is a repeat of last year's 7th place performance in the CSAC Championship. Below is a listing of the CSAC awards that were awarded at this year's tournament.
