Golf Team Grabs 2nd Place During CSAC Champ

CLARKS SUMMIT, PA - 
Posting the second-lowest round in school history on day two of the CSAC Championship, the Crimson Eagles rolled to a second place finish during the event, the squad's best ever showing in the conference tilt.

Following a 318 on day one of the tourney, PBU bettered their score two strokes during the follow-up round, topping the third place competitor - Immaculata University - by 11 strokes overall throughout the weekend event.

Cabrini College cruised during their third conference championship in the last four seasons, logging a 613 for the two day tournament to win the title showing by 21 swings.

Tim Slothower, who entered the tournament with a career low round of 80, paced the Crimson Eagles by shattering his previous best mark by four hits after posting a near-PBU record of 76. Slothower finished just one shot off the program record of 75 set by Jared Wilcox back in 2009.

Garry North aided the Crimson Eagles with his second straight 78 Saturday afternoon, tying for sixth place overall in the 35 man-field. Brian Loesser also carded a 78 on day two of the event as the rookie golfer notched a 157 overall, good enough for eighth place on the leaderboard.

Sam Wilcox rounded out PBU's top four with an 84 while Corey Snyder ended with an 85.

The Crimson Eagles nearly clocked in the lowest round in school history, missing the school record by only a solo swing.

For his efforts, Bill Marshall was named the CSAC Coach of the Year, becoming the first PBU coach in any sport to be named the the coach of the year within the conference since joining the league three years ago.

Keystone College (325), Centenary College (328), Baptist Bible College (328), and Neumann University (346) rounded out the scoring.
