CLARKS SUMMIT, PA
- Piecing together their best collective round of the season, the Crimson Eagles remained within reasonable striking distance following the opening round of the CSAC Championship Friday afternoon.

PBU logged their best score of the year during the highly anticipated match at Glen Oak Country Club, putting up a 318 to place the group 16 back from the overall leader - Cabrini College - after day one.

Cabrini was lights out on the 6,548 yard, par 72 course as the Cavaliers punched in a 302, finishing just 14 stokes over as a team. In fact, all five Cabrini golfers broke the 80-barrier with their top four garnering spots within the top five of the overall field. Mike Ryan paced the leaderboard with a 73, ending just a solo shot over par for the afternoon.

The Crimson Eagles - while not quite as efficient as their counterpart - nevertheless pieced together an impressive round that saw three golfers round the course in less than 80 strokes. Garry North and Corey Snyder paved the way with 78's on the afternoon while Brian Loesser chipped in with a 79.

Tim Slothower and Sam Wilcox tied for the fourth slot with 83's to help the group post the second best score in program history. The Crimson Eagles bettered their top round of the year by three strokes, a mark that came back earlier in the month during the Swarthmore Invitational.

Immaculta University topped the Crimson Eagles by just a single swing to take the second place slot, finishing with a 317 following day one. Keystone College (325), Baptist Bible College (328), Centenary College (328) and Neumann University (346) rounded out the field.
