HARRISBURG, PA - The golf team's mark of 334 Tuesday afternoon was good enough to put the Crimson Eagles in the top half of the field during the Messiah Falcon Classic as Brian Loesser and Tim Slothower spearheaded PBU's effort.
In the group's final tune-up before CSAC Championship play, the Crimson Eagles placed eighth overall in the 17-team field, edging out several notable local powerhouses in process.
Playing on a wet course while battling unfavorable wind conditions, Loesser and Slothower both posted 82's on the 6,615 yard course at Blue Ridge Country Club. The combo tied for 21st overall out of 94 total golfers.
The Crimson Eagles finished just four strokes off a sixth place finish in the event and managed to better several local rivals, including Alvernia University (338), Messiah College (339), and Cabrini College (343).
Corey Snyder rounded the course in 84 swings while Sam Wilcox and Garry North logged an 86 and 87, respectively. Alex Mitchell pitched in with a 93.
The Crimson Eagles will play in their final competition this weekend during the CSAC Championship. PBU will head to Glen Oak Country Club in Clarks Summit, PA for two rounds, beginning Saturday morning at 11:00 am.
