LAFAYETTE HILL, PA - Playing in a three team tournament, the men's golf squad took home the gold trophy Tuesday afternoon, upsetting two NCAA II programs in the process.
In their first match of the spring season, junior Garry North and senior Tim Slothower threw a one-two punch on the afternoon as both golfers logged an 80 to top the field of 15 golfers. Fourth year player Corey Snyder finished just two swings back, ending the day 10 over par while tying him for second overall.
The Crimson Eagles charted a 331 overall, a mark that nearly blew out the rest of the field as Felician University (345) and host Philadelphia University (348) struggled to get any type of rhythm on the complex par 72, 7,500 yard course.
Freshman Brian Loesser came up with an 89 on the day and junior Sam Wilcox rounded out PBU's top five with a 91.
The Crimson Eagles will return to the links on Monday at the Swarthmore Spring Invitational at Rolling Green Golf Club. Tee time is 1:00 pm.
