Pacers Pull Away in Langhorne

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA -
Staying within striking distance throughout the first 30 minutes of action, PBU failed to keep pace over the final 10 minutes, falling to visiting Marywood University on Saturday, 64-35.

The visitors received over half of their point production from the bench as the Pacers used 40 points from their reserves to help serve up the group's 10th triumph over their last 11 tries.

Playing without leading scorer Careth Herron, PBU's offense was out of sync for the majority of the afternoon as the group managed just 14 first half points and 35 total for the game - a number that equates their second lowest point production tally on the year.

Nevertheless, PBU managed to hang with the top ranked CSAC team in the north conference for the opening 3/4th's of the game. Ahead 38-21, Marywood closed out the contest on a 26-14 spurt to put the game out of reach.

The Crimson Eagles were efficient from deep - knocking down six of 13 triple attempts (46.2 percent) - but the host squad struggled from the rest of the field, drilling only 21.8 percent of their 2-point looks for the game.

The Pacers were aided by a 26-16 edge in points on the interior as the visitors collected a 16-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Marywood had three players log 14 points on the afternoon and saw nine different players reach the scoring column.

The Crimson Eagles were paced by a career high mark of 18 points from rookie guard Haley Weber who finished the contest four from six from beyond the arc. Hannah McCardle added 10 points and nine boards for the Crimson Eagles.

The basketball team will get back into action this Thursday when the squad heads to Hackettstown, NJ to take on Centenary College at 6:00 pm.
