York, PA - Despite shooting their lowest mark of the season, the Crimson Eagles managed a pedestrian sixth place finish Monday afternoon amongst a tough crop of competition that saw the top program fire two-under par.
PBU drilled a collective score of 323 - accounting for the program's second lowest mark ever - but was unable to finish in the top half thanks to five different teams notching a sub-320. Messiah College blew out the competition by 24 strokes, collecting a 282 on the day to take the top slot.
The Crimson Eagles were paced by Dave Hill's career round of 79, a mark good enough to place the fourth-year vet 16th overall. Garry North chipped in an 80, and Sam Wilcox, Tim Slothower, and Corey Snyder finished with scores of 81, 83, and 84, respectively.
Messiah's combo of Matt Burkhart and Dan Wort proved a solid 1-2 punch as the duo finished tops overall on the day, with both golfers recording 67's.
The golf team will take a two week break from game action before returning to the fairway on April 15th to compete in Immaculata College's annual Invitational at 12:30 pm.
