LANGHORNE, PA -
It might have took a little bit longer than originally hoped, but the women's basketball team finally cracked a previously locked vault Saturday afternoon as the Crimson Eagles pulled out their first conference win of the season.

PBU used a 17 of 19 effort from the charity stripe in the second stanza alone to help propel the host squad past Keystone College, 67-57, a game that signals the group's first conference win since November 2008.

After shooting in the mid 20 percentile from the field during each of their previous three games, PBU broke out of their recent shooting slump on Saturday, knocking down 44.7 percent of their snipes for the afternoon. The Crimson Eagles proved effective from long range as well, drilling five of six three point attempts throughout the 40 minutes of play.

Despite giving up 17 offensive rebounds to the Giants, PBU helped negate their disadvantage on the glass by forcing Keystone into 23 turnovers for the afternoon.

Junior Lisa Garner pieced together the best game of her collegiate career, spouting off for 22 points and eight boards on 6 of 11 shooting from the floor. Senior Dani Norton added 20 points and Lindsey Fornwalt chipped in nine points and eight rebounds.

The Crimson Eagles improve to 4-17 on the year while Keystone drops to 5-16.

The basketball team will return to action on Monday when the group goes up against Centenary College on the road at 6:00 pm.
