Crimson Eagles Collect 3rd Place Finish

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA -
It proved to be a career afternoon for two PBU golfers at the Rutgers-Camden Fall Golf Invitational Friday, with the Crimson Eagles garnering a third place finish at the Pennsauken Country Club.

Junior Sam Wilcox, whose previous best was an 81, finally clipped the 80-barrier on the Par 70, 6123 yard course, drilling a 78 to finish sixth overall out of the 48 man field.

A single stroke off a top five finish, Wilcox was joined by teammate Tim Slothower in the career day department as Slothower finished two strokes back, tying for 11th overall with an 80. The New York native broke his previous career mark by a single swing.

The Crimson Eagles posted their second best showing of the year in the process, carding a 328 as a team - a single shot off the squad's 327 the group put up back in late September.

Following several uncharacteristic rounds, senior Corey Snyder got back to old form, notching a season low 82 for the round. Brian Loesser added an 88 to end fourth for PBU and Garry North scored an 89.

Penn State Harrisburg ended up winning the event with a 320 as the Nittany Lions' Geoff Morrison took home the individual gold trophy by collecting a 75.

The Crimson Eagles will wrap up their fall season on Tuesday during Messiah College's Falcon Classic. Tee time is set for 12:30 pm.
