LANGHORNE, PA - Playing against a host of NCAA I and II schools during the first ever Philadelphia University Fall Classic, the men's golf team fired a 345 Tuesday afternoon, finishing eighth overall in the event.
The Crimson Eagles finished 57 over par as a group on the par 72, 6,800 yard course, edging out conference rivals Baptist Bible College (364) and Neumann University (375) in the process.
Villanova University won the event by a single stroke, collecting a 315 to finish tops overall, slipping past second place finisher Drexel University who tallied a 316 for the day.
PBU junior Garry North posted an 82 on the afternoon to pave the way for the Crimson Eagles while Tim Slothower finished three strokes back with an 85. Brian Loesser and Corey Snyder rounded out the top four, each carding an 89.
Drexel's Ben Feld secured the gold trophy on the afternoon, logging a two over par 74.
The Crimson Eagles will return to the links on Friday during the Scarlet Raptors Fall Invitational. Tee time is 12:30 pm.
