- With the competition undoubtedly stiff, the Crimson Eagles figured they'd be tested Saturday afternoon in the Susquehanna Fall Invitational - and they were.

Minus a single blip in the radar last season, PBU shot their highest collective number in two years, firing a 343 amongst the group's top four golfers.

Despite the somewhat mediocre result, junior Corey Snyder nonetheless became the first Crimson Eagle to crack the 80 barrier this season, posting a 78 for the day. Fourth-year vet Jared Wilcox chipped in with respectable number of 83, but amongst the rest of PBU's generally reliable crop, things didn't fair quite as well.

Sophomores Sam Wilcox and Garry North posted a 90 and 92 for the match, respectively, and junior Tim Slothower rounded out the scoring with a 93.

Susquehanna University secured the gold prize after all four Crusader golfers finished in the 70's to end with a 302 for the day. Susquehanna's Mitch Mercer and Gettysburg's Austin Smith tied for the top spot individually, finishing with a plus-two 72 for the day.

The Crimson Eagles will take a week and a half break before returning to the links October 5th to take part in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational. Play at Bent Creek country Club in Lancaster will kick-off at 12:30 pm.
