Director of Athletics David Babb and the Cairn University Athletic Department are proud to welcome Dani Terry (Norton) '10 into the prestigious Cairn Athletics Hall of Honor, made official during the 2023 induction ceremony on the afternoon of Homecoming, Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Dani Terry's (Norton) historic career began in the 2006-07 Women's Basketball season. In her freshman season, she averaged 12 points per game, along with 70 3-point field goals made, and finished with 347 points scored by seasons end, finishing in 4th place during the 2007 NCCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Tournament under the leadership of NCCAA Division III National Coach of the Year, Drew Watson. In 2007-08, Dani averaged 16.6 ppg with 499 points in the season, as she was named NCCAA Division II First Team All-American with a 7th place finish at the NCCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. Dani and her team would go on to finish 3rd place in the national tournament her junior year as she was again named First Team All-American and to the All-Tournament team as well as an NCCAA Scholar Athlete, averaging 18.9 ppg. In her senior season, Dani would average 20 ppg and a career-high 601 points scored in a single season, which ranks 7th all-time in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) history. Again she was named to the NCCAA Division II Women's Basketball All-Tournament team, a First Team All-American, and an NCCAA Scholar Athlete in addition to a CSAC All-Conference Honorable Mention and the CSAC Sportsmanship Award.
Dani set multiple career records at Cairn including: most Career Points (2014), most 3-point FGs made (331), highest 3-point FG % (.340 331/973), 2nd highest FT made (287), highest FT% (.768 387/504), 4th most Rebounds (703), 8th most Steals (170), and most games played and started (119 G, 118 GS). Danni is 7th all-time in CSAC points scored, 3rd and 4th in 3-point FG made in a single season.
Post-Graduation, Dani began teaching 4th Grade at Upper Moreland Intermediate School. While there, she earned her Masters of Education in Literacy Studies: Reading and TESOL from Arcadia University. Currently, she works part time at Keystone Montgomeryville Church, where she and her family also attend, as the Preschool Director. She married Wayne Terry in 2013 and they have 4 children (Josie, Nick, Daphne, and Nora) residing in Doylestown, PA.
On her induction to the Cairn Athletics Hall of Honor, Dani said; "Basketball has been such a big part of my life for many years, and has taught me so many life lessons. It is an honor to be inducted into the hall of honor. I'm thankful for my time spent at Cairn studying and playing basketball, and for the lifelong friends basketball and Cairn have brought me."
