BB: Cairn Baseball Sets Eyes on United East Championship

LANGHORNE, PA – The 2025 United East Baseball Championship field is all set as the league schedule ended on Wednesday night. The Cairn University baseball team will take a trip out to Penn College in Williamsport, PA for a doubleheader at 11 am and 1:30 pm start. The #5 Highlanders take on the #4 Wildcats in the second round of the United East Baseball Championship.
 
THE FIELD:
The No. 1 seed belongs to Keystone College (29-9 / 15-1 UNITED EAST) after only losing one game in a dominant 2025 season. The No. 2 seed belongs to Penn St. Harrisburg (29-9-1 / 12-4 UNITED EAST) after another winning season, ending their regular season on a 4-game winning streak. The No. 3 seed will rightfully belong to the St. Mary's Seahawks (11-14 / 11-5 UNITED EAST) after having the tiebreaker over Penn College and Cairn University. The No. 4 seed belongs to the Penn College Wildcats (18-16 / 11-5 UNITED EAST) who hold the tiebreaker over Cairn after having a winning 2025 season. Cairn (25-14 / 11-5 UNITED EAST) will hold the No. 5 seed after going an impressive 25-win regular season heading into the Championship. The No. 6 seed will be given to Penn St. Abington (16-18 / 9-7 UNITED EAST) after having gone 6-2 in neutral location sites for their regular season. Lancaster Bible College (18-21 / 8-8 UNITED EAST) will have the No. 7 seed for the Championship. Saint Elizabeth University (17-25 / 7-9 UNITED EAST) will be given the No. 8 seed with getting one win to help save their season. The No. 9 seed will be given out to Wilson College (9-25 / 6-10 UNITED EAST) and the No. 10 seed will be given to Penn State Berks (10-27 / 6-10 UNITED EAST).
 
On Friday, May 2, the second round starts. No. 6 Penn St. Abington will take on No. 3 St. Mary's for a doubleheader in a best of 3 series. No. 5 Cairn University will take on No. 4 Penn College for a doubleheader this Friday as well. The Battle of Penn State's will feature No. 10 Berks against No. 2 Harrisburg also for a doubleheader best of 3. No. 9 Wilson College will take on No. 1 Keystone for a doubleheader as well.
 
OUR TEAM:
This season the Highlanders had an impressive 25-14 overall regular season record, going 11-5 in the United East Conference, earning them the No. 5 seed in the Championship. Sophomore Infielder Andrew Holt (Sunrise, FL / New College of Florida) had an impressive season at the plate, holding a top 3 batting average in the United East with a 449. BA. Classmate Mikey Gutierrez (Cooper City, FL / St. Thomas Aquinas) held a team lead of a 2.57 ERA with pitching 35 innings for the Highlanders in his 2025 season. Senior first baseman Tyler Warr (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy HS) had a dominant performance at the plate as well, leading the entire United East with 65 total hits and runs batted in. He also had the third most home runs with 10 in the United East, finishing his final regular season on a high note. Junior catcher Zach Bauers (Cooper City, FL / Cooper City High School) also was second in the United East in walks with 36 on the year, playing a crucial part in their scoring.
 
THE MATCHUP:
The Highlanders will go up against the No. 4 Penn College for the first time this season, on Friday to start the second round. Cairn has won two out of three games in their entire history with each other, but they look to take command in a key battle on Friday and Saturday as the United East Baseball Championship gets underway for the Highlanders.
