Rosemont (8-22 / 2-9 UNITED EAST) got the scoring started with 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. In the top of the 3rd junior second baseman
AJ Ramirez (Manchester, New Jersey Elmira College) reached base with a lead-off walk. Freshman shortstop
Matthew Urena (Hialeah, FL / Everglades HS) followed this up with an RBI double to put Cairn (1-32 / 0-12 UNITED EAST) on the board. In the top of the 4th inning the Highlanders added on another 4 runs including 2 RBI doubles the first by Freshman
Jake Murnock (Scranton, PA Scranton / Preparatory School) and the second by sophomore Cam Burnes (Syracuse, NY / Faith Heritage). The Highlanders tacked on another 2 runs in the top of the 5th. The 6h inning saw Burnes reach base on a walk before freshman first baseman
Trevor Golden (Allentown, PA / William Allen High School) hit a 2-run home run to extend the Cairn lead to 9-3. Rosemont responded with a run in the bottom of the 6th before Cairn once again extended the lead by scoring 2 in the top of the 7th inning. The Ravens scored 7 runs between the 7th nd 8th innings to tie the score entering the 9th. Cam Burnes came on to pitch for the Highlanders and held the Ravens scoreless in the 9th and 10th innings, but the Highlanders failed to get the bats going and Rosemont finally scored in the bottom of the 1tth to win the game 12-11.
