OUR TEAM: This season The Highlanders were 24-15 on the year and 14-4 in United East Skye Division play. The team has had a lot of success this season from both sides. Freshman starter Mikey Gutierrez (Cooper City, FL / St. Thomas Aquinas) had amazing first year with the team, compiling a 2.39 ERA and record of 7-3, the most in a single season in program history and five strikeouts away from the single season record (59 - Ronaldinho Alcin in 2023). His battery mate, sophomore catcher Zach Bauers (Cooper City, FL / Cooper City) hit .341 while throwing out 16 would-be base thieves. Senior righty Eli Schooley (Horseheads, NY / Horseheads) was also a conference starter for the Highlanders with a 4-2 record with a 3.55 ERA in eight starts. Junior lefty Joe Battaglia (Franklin, TN / Brentwood Academy) and sophomore righty Greg Jessup (Tyler, TX / McKinney Christian) were the top relief options with 12 and 14 appearances, respectively, the former with a 5-1 record and the later going 4-0 on a team lading 2.17 ERA.

At the plate, junior First Baseman Tyler Warr (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy) hit a conference-leading .447 on the season, collecting 63 hits and 46 RBI. Classmate right fielder Dylan Jackson (Levittown, PA / Chestnut Hill College) has been a source of power, leading the team wth seven home runs.

THE MATCHUP: The Highlanders will go up against No. 3 Wilson College for the fourth time this season on Friday to start the Divisional Round. As mentioned earlier, Cairn has won two out of three games, dropping game one 13-9 and then winning the home doubleheader 8-2 and 12-2 as one might expect a high-scoring affair.
