Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University baseball team completed the series sweep against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Clarks Summit University in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, claiming game one by a score of 15-3 before besting the Defenders, 24-4, in the nightcap.

In game one, Cairn (14-17, 7-5 CSAC) got on the board in the second inning off a two-RBI double by junior Jake Meisel (Newark, DE / Rosemont College), before exploding for eight runs in the top of the third, highlighted by three homers courtesy of senior Tyler Fox (Boyertown, PA / West-Mont Christian Academy), sophomore Jared Sucro (Kamloops, BC / St. Ann's Academy) and senior Sam Spadea (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury). Clarks Summit (4-27, 0-5 CSAC) cut the deficit to 11-3 after six, before the Highlanders added four more runs in the seventh, capped off by a two-RBI knock by freshman Donald Kennedy (Cincinnati, OH / Bethel-Tate) to close out the contest.

Cairn was led offensively in game one by Meisel with four hits and three RBIs, followed by Sucro and sophomore Tyler Warr (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy) with three hits a-pop (Warr added three runs scored). Spadea and freshman Zach Bauers (Cooper City, FL / Cooper City) contributed two hits each, and Spadea drove in two runs. Sophomore Joe Battaglia (Brielle, NJ / Brentwood Academy) earned his second-straight win on the mound, going six strong, allowing six hits, three runs and striking out three, while freshman Evan Hughes (Levittown, PA / Neshaminy) closed out the game with a scoreless inning in relief.

No official statistics are currently available from game two due to technical difficulties at Clarks Summit's neutral site, Ackerly Field, and will be made available to the public next week.

The Highlanders will be back on the diamond on Wednesday, April 26 when they travel to Lancaster to complete their home-and-home series with Lancaster Bible College at 3:30 p.m.
