LEBANON, Pa. – The Cairn University men's golf team started its traditional spring season at the Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational at Lebanon Country Club on Monday.
The Highlanders were led by senior
Ryan Borrmann (Warminster, PA / William Tennant), who carded a four-over par, 76 on the par-72, 6,562-yard track to finish in solo third place in the 52-player field. Borrmann's round was highlighted by an eagle on par-5, dogleg right, 489-yard seventh hole. Only five players in the field posted rounds in the 70's on the day. Cairn sophomore
Danny Smullen (Palmyra, PA / Mount Calvary Christian School) was the other Highlander competing on the day, carding a 98 (+26) to finish in solo 37
th place.
Hood College won the event with a team score of 322 (+34) and Neumann University senior Jared Christmann claimed the individual title with a three-over par round of 75.
Cairn will be back on the course on Friday, April 1 when it competes in Day One of the two-day Spring Kick-Off Classic hosted by Arcadia University at Eagle Ridge Golf Course at 12 p.m.
