Men’s Golf: Highlanders Compete in LVC Fall Invitational

LEBANON, Pa. – The Cairn University men's golf team continued its season at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Invitational, hosted by Lebanon Valley College at Lebanon Country Club on Monday. The Highlanders finished in 15th place with a season-best score of 379 (+91).
 
The Highlanders were led by senior Ryan Borrmann (Warminster, PA / William Tennant), who carded a five-over par, 77 on the par-72, 6,562-yard track to finish tied for sixth place in the 85-player field. Borrmann carded a front-nine 36 with two birdies on the par-5 second and seventh holes to go along with a back-nine 41. Placing next for Cairn were graduate students Eric Jacobs (Dillsburg, PA / Northern York) and Philip Nathan (Fort Washington, PA / Upper Dublin) who each shot 100 (+28) to tie for 73rd place. Sophomore Danny Smullen (Palmyra, PA / Mount Calvary Christian) and senior Brad Garges (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge) rounded out the day for Cairn, shooting round of 102 (+30) and 112 (+40), respectively.
 
Cabrini University won the event with a team score of 299 (+11) and Cabrini sophomore Dan Murphy claimed the individual title with a one-under par, 71.
 
Cairn will be back on the course on Friday, October 22 when they travel to Limerick to compete in the Arcadia Fall Invitational at Turtle Creek Golf Course. Shotgun start is scheduled for 12 p.m.
