Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Winter Haven, FL- The Highlanders played back-to-back games against the Buccaneer's of Beloit College yesterday, taking the second for a 10-6 win.

The Buccaneers started off strong in game 1, scoring 3 runs early on.Cairn started to gain some momentum in the third inning after a slow start. Eric Hodges scored in the bottom of the third inning tying things up 5-5. But the Buccaneers responded with five more runs in the next two innings. In the bottom of the fifth, the Highlanders were able to score three more runs but that's as far as they would go for the rest of the game with a final score of 15-8.

Jon Sanville pitched 5 innings striking out 4 hitters. Hodges and Mitch Peiffer each earned 2 RBI's.



For the second game, the Highlanders hit the ground running, leading 6-0 by the third inning.  The fifth inning was as close as the Buccaneers would get to Cairn when they scored four runs making the score 9-6. Cairn tacked on one more run in the top of the seventh leaving us with a final score of 10-6.

Caleb Lang, Kenneth Searle and Eric Hodges each earned double RBI's off of solo hits. Lang also went 3-5 scoring 3 runs while Searle went 3-4 scoring 2.

Tyson Rohrs pitched 4 innings striking out 4 hitters and allowing just 5 hits. Freshman Josh Freed also saw 2 innings of action striking out 4 hitters and allowing only 1 hit.

Cairn is now 2-3.

The Highlanders face Curry College this morning at 9:30.
