In the bottom of the third, the Griffins would strike for eight runs, taking a commanding 8-3 lead. Gwynedd-Mercy would add one more run in the sixth, shutting out Cairn the rest of the way.

Caleb Lang finished 3 for 3 with one run and one RBI.

Jon Sanville was on the mound for the Highlanders, seeing five innings of work and had the Griffins hitless until the fateful 8-run third inning. Andrew Gordon came in as relief in the sixth.

Game two saw a reversal of roles. Gwynedd-Mercy took the early lead this time around, scoring six runs in the second and one run in the third, jumping out to a 7-0 lead.

It was Cairn's turn to mount a comeback this time. After being held off the scoresheet for the first four innings, the Highlanders tallied two runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh narrowing the lead from 7-0 to 8-6, following a Griffins run in the fifth.

The rally started in the fifth when Eric Hodges' double scored Joey Nieves-Markee, and later scored himself with Chad Hollinger getting credit for the RBI. In the sixth inning, Kenneth Searle scored on a wild pitch, followed by a Lang run on a Ryan Miller RBI. Heading into the seventh, Cairn trailed 8-4 but threatened to reduce the deficit even more. Two early errors on the same play helped the Highlanders tally a quick run. Lang registered his second RBI of the day when his single drove home Jeremy McAlack, cutting the lead to 8-6 with still two outs to give. The Griffins were out of danger though when they turned a 4-6-3 double play the very next at-bat and ended Cairns rally.

Ryan Miller went 1 for 1 at the plate, earning an RBI, while Eric Hodges finished 1 for 2, scoring once and knocking in another. Lang also tallied a run and an RBI, going 2 for 4.

Michael DeLuca got the start for Cairn, lasting four innings allowing only three hits. Dean Diernbach saw two innings of work, striking out four and allowing a single hit.
