Box Score | Game 1
Box Score | Game 2

Langhorne, PA - Neumann University proved too much for the Highlanders of Cairn University on Saturday afternoon, as the Knights won by double-digits in both outings in a doubleheader.

In inning one of the opening game, Cairn quickly tallied two runs taking an early lead. After Jeremy McAlack was hit by a pitch, a single by Caleb Moore, and a walk from Kenneth Searle, Caleb Lang earned an RBI on the next play, bringing home McAlack and giving the Highlanders a 1-0 lead. Austin Arseneau's single drove in Moore and just like that Cairn had a 2-0 lead.

It only seemed to waken the Knights, though, as Neumann tore off five runs in the top of the second inning to take the lead for good.

Cairn was able to shutout the high-flying Neumann Knights every other inning, but it was those innings when they didn't that Neumann did their real damage. In addition to scoring five in the second, the Knights piled four in the fourth and seven in the sixth on their way to an 18-3 victory.

The Highlanders scored once more in the bottom of the seventh.

Cairn had four hits compared to Neumann's thirteen.

In the follow-up, Neumann continued to dominate the plate scoring two in the first and four in the second.

Arseneau scored Cairn's lone run in the bottom of the second as the Highlanders struggled for the second straight game against Neumann to get their bats working. Cairn registered six hits from six different players.

Neumann had fourteen hits on their way to fifteen runs, led by Buddy Elgin with three.

With the losses, the Highlanders remain winless in the Colonial States Athletic Conference at 0-10 and drop to 5-21 overall. Cairn will get another crack at Neumann this Monday when they travel to Aston, PA to finish the series.
