Langhorne, PA - Cairn University gave up six runs in the top of the 2nd inning in their defeat to Washington College in a non-conference battle.

Kyle Parisi went 2-for-2 and knocked in the Highlanders lone run on the afternoon.
Michael DeLuca started on the mound for Cairn, lasting two innings and was on the mound for the 6-run second inning.
Jon Sanville came in relief from the 3rd to the 7th inning.
The Shoremen knocked in a single run in the opening inning, leading 1-0 heading into the second. Despite only getting 3 hits, Washington was able to string together a 6-run second inning that opened the game up, allowing the Shoremen to generate a 7-0 lead.

Kyle Parisi hit a single, knocking in Cairn's only run and earing his first career RBI.
The score was 13-1 when freshman
Ryan Miller took the mound for the Highlanders for his first collegiate appearance. Miller pitched a complete inning, in the 8th, not allowing a single hit or run in his debut.
Washington would add two more runs in the top of the 9th inning to complete their scoring at 15-1, with the Highlanders unable to make a miraculous comeback.
Sean Connole and Nick Marinelli each went 2-for-3, combining for three-runs between the two of them, and Brian Alexa and Garrett Richardello both finished 2-for-4. Bryan Baquer and Marinelli each recorded 4 RBI's.
Dan Jarrell earned the win for the Shoremen, going five innings allowing only 3 hits and 4 strikeouts. DeLuca gets the loss for the Highlanders.
Cairn falls to 0-5 on the season while Washington College improves to 2-2.
This Friday, the Highlanders will host The King's College in a doubleheader starting at noon. It will be the season-opener for the Lions of The King's College.
