McCardle Drops 21 on Keystone

Langhorne, PA - Hannah McCardle dropped 21 points on Colonial States Athletic Conference rivals Keystone Conference, but the Giant's defense was too intense for the Highlanders.

Keystone raced ahead early on, dominating the first half, and took a 51-26 halftime lead. Cairn was unable to stop a Keystone team that was having an impressive shooting night. The Giants shot 47.6% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, and an even better 53.8% from 3-pt land. The Highlanders, on the other hand, struggled especially from deep. Haley Weber and co. would knock down 4 3pt attempts before the night was over, but the Highlanders went 0-for-11 in their attempts in the first half.
Things slowed down in the second period with Keystone cooling off. After a blistering first half, the Giants shooting fell to 25.6% while the Highlanders remained around the same all night. The second half still went to Keystone, but by a much closer score line 29-27. In the end, it added up to a 80-53 loss for Cairn.

McCardle had a game-high 21 points 6-of-23 shooting and an almost perfect night at the free-throw line, 8-for-9, while also grabbing a second best 9 rebounds. Ruth Nelson had a game-high 13 rebounds and added 9 points to the Highlander cause. Haley Weber knocked down 3 3-pointers in the second half helping her to 15 points on the night.

Jazmyn Robinson ran point for the Giants with a game-high 6 assists an 19 points, a team-high. She was the only Keystone player to finish in double-figures.

The loss moves Cairn to 0-16, 0-10.

Next up are the Cavaliers of Cabrini College who will host the Highlanders this Saturday at 2pm.
