Rosemont, PA - On Wednesday night, Cairn University's women's basketball team faced-off against a streaking Rosemont College team that had won 8 of it's last 9 games.

The Ravens jumped all over the Highlanders early on, opening up a 9-0. Although it was very early in the game, the Highlanders were never able to recover as they went into the halftime break trailing 45-15. The second half was much closer, 36-27 in favor of Rosemont, as Cairn final started carving out some offensive chances but they had fallen behind way too early and by too much. The final score finished at 81-42. 

Hannah McCardle and Haley Weber combined for 32 of Cairn's 42 points. Freshman Amie Eppolito grabbed 3 rebounds and knocked down four buckets for 8 points. Ruth Nelson came down with a team-high 6 rebounds.

Rosemont's Ashley Montecchio was on fire, shooting 11-for-18 and finishing with 25 points. No other Rosemont player finished in double figures although 11 different players did score.

The Highlanders are off until Monday, January 21, when they will travel to Hackettstown, NJ to square off against Centenary College in a doubleheader with men's basketball.
