Box Score | Game 2
The Crimson Eagles were only able to get 4 hits off of the Mighty Macs pitching staff of McHale, Housman, and Kobylinkski in game one, scoring two runs in the top of the 4th. At that point, Immaculata had already built a 7-2 lead and they would tack on two more runs in the bottom of the 6th inning and finish off 9-2 winners in the first game.
Mike DeLuca (Newburgh, NY / Marlboro) was on the mound for PBU, pitching a complete 6 innings, striking out 4, and giving up 9 runs on 12 hits.
Jon Sanville (Duncannon, PA, Susquenita) led PBU with two hits while
Mike Sundholm (Brooklyn, NY / Fort Hamilton) knocked in both runs.
Game two was much closer than the first.
After two Immaculata runs scored in the bottom of the second, PBU pulled to within one run, 2-1, in the top of the 4th when Mike Sundholm knocked in
Austin Arseneau (Maple Grove, MN / Homeschool) after he had tripled. That was as close as PBU would get. Immaculata scored two more insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th to seal a 4-1 victory.
Sanville was on the mound for the Crimson Eagles and, like DeLuca, lasted the full 6 innings. Sanville struck out 5 Mighty Macs and gave up only 4 runs on 8 hits.
Both Arseneau and Sundholm went 2-for-3 in game two.
PBU falls to 4-19 overall; 1-7 within the CSAC.
The Crimson Eagles will look to avoid the season sweep on Tuesday when they host Immacuata in Langhorne, PA. First pitch is at 3pm.
