Langhorne, PA
- Since joining the highly competitive Colonial States Athletic Conference in 2009, PBU's baseball team has had to wait a long time to record their first conference win. It finally came on March 31, 2012, just a day before April Fool's Day.

The Crimson Eagles actually started their weekend up in Bridgewater, NJ at TD Bank Ballpark against Centenary College in the first a of a 3-game series typical of CSAC play. The game on Friday night saw the Cyclones get only one more hit than the Crimson Eagles, 6 to 7,  but somehow come out 11-1 on the score board. The bottom of the 3rd inning proved to be the deciding factor as Centenary piled on 5 runs in what was previously a 0-0 game over the first 2 innings. Three more Cyclone runs in the 4th inning put the game out of reach and Centenary cruised to a 11-1 home victory.

PBU's Jon Sanville (Duncannon, PA / Susquenita) did go 3-for3 for the Crimson Eagles.

PBU would have home-field advantage on Saturday in a doubleheader with the same opponent. The weather was cold and wet and far from ideal, but this day would be anything but forgettable for the Crimson Eagle baseball program.

Centenary would take an early lead as they scored a run apiece in each of the first three innings, sneaking out to a 3-0 lead. PBU responded in the bottom of the 4th inning with their first score of the day. Back-to-back groundouts to third base threatened to make it four scoreless innings for PBU when Mike Sundholm (Brooklyn, NY / Fort Hamilton) stepped up and knocked his 5th double of the season. After Sundholm advanced to third on a single from Jon Sanville, Nick Schnittjer (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge) also drilled his 5th double of the season, bringing Sundholm around for the score.

Two innings later, down 4-1, PBU put together a 3-run rally to knot the score at 4 a piece after 6 innings. Chad Hollinger (Leola, PA / Conestoga Valley) started the comeback with a single, followed by Austin Arseneau (Maple Grove, MN / Homeschool) reaching on an error. Sundholm then walked to load the bases for Jon Sanville, and Sanville didn't disappoint. He knocked a 2 run double bringing things to 4-3. Up stepped Schnittjer, who popped a sacrifice fly to left field and allowing Sundholm to score and tying things up at 4-4 after 6.

Ian Zang (Alburtis, PA / Emmaus) then came in relief for Dean Diernbach (Fountainville, PA / Central Bucks West). Diernbach gave up only 2 earned runs on 10 hits in his 6 innings of work. Keeping the solid pitching going, PBU showed no signs of letting up defensively and Zang put together arguably his best outing of his young career. He retired 7 batters with 2 strikeouts and only allowing 1 hit in 2 innings, putting the Crimson Eagles in a chance for the win.

Now bottom of the 8th inning, first batter for PBU, Austin Arseneau trotted up to the plate. He didn't call his shot over the left field fence but that's where he put it. A walk-off homerun! His first of the season, only the teams 2nd of the season, and PBU's first ever victory within the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Zang gets the win, also the first of his career, and Jon Sanville had his 2nd 3-for-3 performance in as many days.

In the second game of the day, PBU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after two innings, but Centenary would pile on 5 consecutive innings with runs, taking the latter game 13-4.

Jeremy McAlack (Newtown, PA / Council Rock North) would go 2-for-4 and would only be outdone by Chad Hollinger who went 3-for-4 in the second game.

PBU is now 2-15; 1-5 in CSAC.

A doubleheader with Valley Forge Christian awaits on Tuesday. First pitch is at 3pm in Langhorme, PA.
