Barbourville, KY - As PBU's baseball team continues their trek below the mason dixon line, they were blanked by Union College 11-0.
Union used a 4 run 1st inning to jump out to an early lead before extending their lead to 5 in the second. The third inning saw 3 more Bulldog runs scored as they stretched the lead to 8-0.
The Crimson Eagles held the Bulldogs scoreless in the 4th and 5th innings but a 3 run 6th made it 11-0. Those early inning runs would be all the Bulldogs required as Union's Drew Chamberlain struck out 11 of 15 batters faced and gets credit for the win and shutout.
The Bulldogs scored 11 runs on 10 hits.
Mike Sundholm Brooklyn, NY / Fort Hamilton) and
Mark Wasson (Willow Grove, PA / Home School) were the only Crimson Eagles to record a hit. Sundholm went 1-for-3 while Wasson was 1-for-1.
Jon Sanville Duncannon, PA / Susquenita) started for PBU and was given the loss.
PBU takes on Virginia Intermont on Monday, March 12th.
