Signs of Improvement from Crimson Eagles

Box Score

Radnor, PA
- After suffering some lopsided defeats in recent weeks, a match up against Cabrini College had the potential to turn ugly.

The Crimson Eagles, sitting at 4-19, took on a formidable Cavaliers of Cabrini College and behind the 21 point performance of Danielle Bradley-Wilson (Philadelphia, PA / Delaware Valley Charter) made a game of it. PBU was able to keep it within single digits throughout the first half, trailing by only 4 at halftime. In fact, a pair of Ruth Nelson (Spofford, NH / Keene) free-throws with only 37 seconds remaining in the first half gave the Crimson Eagles a 34-35 lead. Cabrini regained the lead with a three-pointer and pair of free-throws in the final seconds.

The Crimson Eagles hung tight in the early stages of the second half, but the much deeper bench of Cabrini started to pay dividends for the Cavaliers as they could rely on fresh legs. It took Cabrini 30 minutes of play before they could reach a double-digit lead on PBU.

The 76-63 victory clinched a post-season spot for Cabrini but also showed that the Crimson Eagles are capable of competing.

Rosemont College remains the final regular season game for the 2011-2012 season this Wednesday.
