Griffins Strike Down Stretch

Staying within striking distance throughout nearly the entirety of the contest, the Crimson Eagles watched visiting Gwynedd-Mercy College pull away late Friday afternoon as the Griffins ultimately prevailed 21-7.

Down just 6-3 heading into the top of the eighth, the Crimson Eagles were rocked for 12 runs during the stanza as Gwynedd build up an 18-3 edge. PBU scored four runs down the stretch but couldn't overcome the massive deficit.

The Griffins doubled-up the host group in the hit department, knocking around 20 hits to go with nine walks for the contest. Sixteen different players reached base for the visitors in their seventh win during their past eight tries.

Four players collected multi-hit games for the Crimson Eagles as Jeremy McAlack, Chad Hollinger, Mike Sundholm, and Caleb Reimer all paced PBU with two hits for the afteroon.

The baseball team will wrap up their regular season on Saturday during a doubleheader with the Griffins. Game time is noon.
