LANCASTER, PA - It took a little longer than perhaps initially hoped, but the baseball squad picked up their first win of the season Wednesday afternoon, splitting games on the road with Lancaster Bible College in NCCAA East Region action.
The Crimson Eagles exploded for 13 runs while battering around 15 hits for the game en route to their greatest run production of the season.
After going down 5-2 heading into the top of the fourth, the visitors knocked around 11 runs over the ensuing two frames and managed to hold off the Chargers down the stretch, ultimately prevailing 13-12 over their counterpart.
Shawn Bramble, John Sanville, and Jeremy McAlack each posted three hits in the winning effort for PBU.
Lancaster stole the second game of the afternoon, coming up clutch in the bottom of the seventh. Heading into the final stanza with the score locked at 3-apiece, the Chargers used a pair of hits and a walk to help log the game winning score during a 4-3 LBC victory.
Chad Hollinger produced two singles in the lead-off spot for the Crimson Eagles.
The baseball squad will get back into action on Thursday in New York against Polytechnic University. Game time is 3:00 pm.
