ASTON, PA - The Crimson Eagles shot the lights out from deep but struggled from the free-throw line in their 47-76 loss to the Knights of Neumann University.
Sophomore guard
Haley Weber (Newfane, NY / Newfane) led the Crimson Eagles and all scorers with 19 points. Weber continues to impress from beyond the 3-pt arc this season, going 5-for-6 against Neumann. Senior Sara Poole added PBU's only other 3-pointer of the game. The Crimson Eagles shot 68% from 3-pt territory.
One area the Crimson Eagles did not impress in was from the free-throw line. PBU was a dismal 1-for-10 from the line, compared to the Knights 12-for-14 performance.
Neumann also held the advantage in several other categories often associated with success in basketball. The Knights out rebounded the Crimson Eagles 63-40, but even more crucial were the offensive rebounds. Neumann held a 35-9 advantage, leading to 25 second chance points.
The loss drops PBU to 4-4, 1-2 in CSAC. Neumann also moves to 4-4, 3-1 in CSAC.
PBU will host Centenary College this Saturday, December 10 before the holiday break.
