Immaculata Hits Past Baseball Squad

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA -
Visiting Immaculata University belted out a season high mark of 20 hits while notching 17 runs during their third triumph over the Crimson Eagles in two days.

Five players registered three hits for the Mighty Mac offensive unit as the group crossed home in five of seven innings, signaling Immaculata's eighth win of the year.

The Crimson Eagles managed six runs for the game - including a five score second inning outburst - but struggled to slow down the hot hitting Immaculata offense.

The visitors clawed out to a 4-0 lead following the top of the second, but a dominant perfomance at the plate from PBU during the bottom of the inning helped the group unleash five runs on five hits to take a one run edge.

Unfortunately, Immaculata would respond with a torrid inning of their own.

The Mighy Macs posted six runs during the top of the third to break open a 10-5 lead, utilizing a Matt Hardy grand slam in the stanza to aid in their outburst.

PBU was hampered by three errors throughout the afternoon, a mark that proved to be costly as the blunders led to four unearned scores.

Jayson Hernadez paced the Crimson Eagles with two hits, two ribbies, and a walk and Ryan Eshleman added a two for four performance while crossing home once.

The Crimson Eagles will look to get back on track this Friday when the group hosts Keystone College at 3:00 pm.
