SCRANTON, PA - Marywood University tallied runs in seven of nine innings Friday afternoon while holding the Crimson Eagles scoreless during a 22-0 Pacer triumph.
Fourteen different players reached base for the host squad led by Nick Pasqualichio's school record-tying effort of four singles on the afternoon as Marywood collected their second straight game with 20-plus runs.
The Pacers drilled 20 hits for the game - all singles - while utilizing eight free passes to first base during the group's biggest win of the year. The Crimson Eagles came up empty on six hits, stranding seven runners on the bag for the afternoon.
Marywood wasted little time in the bottom of the first, belting out five runs in the opening stanza while adding to their edge during all but two innings the rest of the way. Pacer sophomore hurler Tim Freda tossed a complete game, striking out 10 while walking just two.
The Crimson Eagles fall to 1-8 with the loss while Marywood improves to 4-11.
PBU will square off once again with Marywood on Saturday during a double-header in Langhorne at noon.
