GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - The Crimson Eagles ran into a hot Gwynedd-Mercy team tonight and came out on the losing end of a 80-36 final.
The Griffins stifling half court defense made each PBU possession difficult, forcing the Crimson Eagles into a season high 32 turnovers. On the other end of the court, Gwynedd Mercy shot 41.7 percent for the game, including 12 three pointers.
CSAC player of the week Kristy McGrath was unstoppable both in the paint and on the perimeter, scoring a game-high 20 points. Dara Nelson added 12 points and 9 assists while Danielle Foreman chipped in 11 points.
"There is a reason they were the pre-season favorite in the CSAC," said Coach Drew Watson. "They are an extremely balanced team on both sides of the ball. I thought we battled hard tonight but just didn't have an answer to their pressure."
For the Crimson Eagles, Hannah McCardle led the team with 11 points while Danielle Bradley-Wilson pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
PBU will close out the semester when they host Lancaster Bible College on Saturday at the Mason Activity Center. Game time is 2:00 p.m..
