LANGHORNE, PA - Despite holding Baptist Bible College to a 27.9 percent shooting clip for the game Saturday evening, the Crimson Eagles were upended by their counterpart, 49-42.
On a night that turned into a 40 minute defensive struggle, PBU was hindered by 29 turnovers for the contest - a number made even more devastating when compared to just 16 giveaways from Baptist. The Defenders turned their advantage in the statline into a 24-11 edge in points off of cough-ups.
Down just a single point with just over two minutes remaining, the Crimson Eagles' fatal flaw struck down the stretch as the group gave the ball away three times over the ensuing minute. Baptist made five of nine attempts from the charity stripe with time dwindling down to help keep the host group at arms length.
Rookie forward Dani Bradley-Wilson paced PBU with 14 points and seven rebounds and classmate Haley Weber added 11 off of three triples.
Baptist Improves to 3-2 on the year following Saturday's events while the Crimson Eagles slip to 1-6.
The basketball team will return to action on Monday during a date with Gwynedd-Mercy College on the road at 6:00 pm.
