Marywood rains on PBU senior day

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA
- Hoping to make their last home game of the season their first win of the year, the Crimson Eagles were unable to pull off the task Friday afternoon, falling in Langhorne to Marywood University, 7-2.

During a contest littered with rain throughout, PBU struggle to produce at the plate, knocking around just five hits through seven innings. The host squad was locked up offensively by rookie hurler Mason Webster who allowed just one earned run through four innings of work.

Marywood got on board early, tallying five scores in the top of the first following a shot with the bases loaded by the Pacer's Matt Newcomb to record a grand slam to open the game. Marywood would churn out a five score first inning before adding two runs in the third to go up 7-0.

The Crimson Eagles showed some life in the bottom of the fourth but failed to capitalize to the full extent, leaving three costly runners on base for the inning. Down 7-2 heading into the eighth, the game was eventually called due to a increased percipitation down the stretch.

Tom Fenwick, Brent Fornwalt, Mike Sundholm, Matt betts, and Ricky Ragone each charted a single hit for the game.

Weather permitting, the Crimson Eagles will play in their last game of the year Saturday afternoon, once again squaring off with the Pacers. Game time for the doubleheader in Scranton is scheduled for noon.
