ROSEMONT, PA - Despite collecting what turned out to be the team's second greatest single-game effort on the offensive glass this season (17), the Crimson Eagles fell to Rosemont College 60-52 Thursday evening.
Shackled by turnovers all year, PBU once again struggled to take care of the ball offensively, committing 24 cough-ups by the time all was said and done. It marks the 10th time this season the Crimson Eagles have been afflicted with 20-plus giveaways.
Down 28-19 at the break, PBU connected on seven second-half threes to help the surging squad claw back into the game. But the Crimson Eagles' proficiency from beyond the arc wasn't enough to overcome an alarmingly low number of charity stripe tosses for the game as PBU shot just three free throws through the contest, equaling the team's lowest number of attempts in over four years.
The Ramblers picked up their first CSAC triumph of the season behind Adriann Demchenko's monstorous 20 point, 14 rebound effort. PBU was paced by Danin Norton's game high 21 points, while Summer Mullen was the only other player to finish in double figures with 10. Senior Allison Montgomery added four points and a team-high seven boards in the loss.
PBU will return to action this Saturday against Marywood University, taking on the pacers in Langhorne at 2:00 pm.
