LANGHORNE, PA - The women's basketball team couldn't keep pace with visiting Gwynedd-Mercy College Saturday afternoon as the Griffins sprinted to an 89-50 victory in the Mason Activity Center.
The visitors forced the Crimson Eagles into 24 turnovers and utilized 22 offensive rebounds, rolling in their fourth win of the season. All 13 players found the scoring column for Gwynedd during a balanced attack that saw nine players tally seven or more points for the contest, a mark that included 54 combined bench points.
Using superior size and strength on the interior, the Griffins pounded their way to a 30-16 edge in points in the paint while capitalizing in the points off turnovers department with a 26-11 edge. Gwyendd would build up a 46-27 advantage by the halftime mark en route to the group's largest triumph of the year.
PBU junior Careth Herron had a career night for the Crimson Eagles, spouting off for 23 points on nine of fourteen shooting from the floor. Rookie Hannah McCardle chipped in with eight points while senior Lindsey Fornwalt added seven.
The Crimson Eagles will take a six day hiatus from game action before competing in their last game of the semester next Friday. PBU will travel to Fort Detrick for a date with Hood College at6:00 pm.
