WSOC: Highlanders Shut Out Ceder Crest in Odd Conference Win

| By:
ALLENTOWN, PA – Cairn Women's Soccer picked up a conference win in 55 minutes as the Highlanders shutout Cedar Crest 4-0.

Sophomore forward Josey Smith (Levittown, PA / Pennsbury) scored the first goal for the Highlanders six minutes in. Classmate Abby Mellinger (Telford, PA / Dock Mennonite) and junior midfielder Paige Noble (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ / Atlantic Christian) scored in tandem in the 34th and 39th minutes, respectively to provide a 3-0 lead at the half.

Sophomore forward Juliana Condurso (Brick, NJ / Calvary Academy) added a fourth for Cairn (1-10-2 / 1-5-1 UNITED EAST) just out of the break in the 46th minute.

The match ended in the 55th minute as Cedar Crest (3-9 / 2-4 UNITED EAST) was unable to field enough players to play by NCAA Rule. Thus, the contest was recorded as a no contest by rule, with each squad's overall records and player statistics not counted. However, the match results in a conference win for Cairn with a +4 goal differential for the Highlanders in conference standings & tiebreakers, per the United East Conference health and safety policy.

The Highlanders look to clinch a postseason appearance on Saturday as they host Valley Forge for Senior Day at 1 p.m.
