WXC: Hayden Earns Runner of the Year, Four Runners All-Conference

HUGHESVILLE, MD - Cairn Women's Cross Country earned Runner of the Year Honors with four runners named All-Conference after the United East Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday.
 
Sophomore Clarisse Hayden (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) was named United East Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year after a first place finish, in 24:04.5, a personal best, which was her fourth finish atop the podium this season. Hayden previously finished second in last year's United East Championship and is the first Highlander ever to win a Conference Championship race, the best finish since her second place finish in 2023 and junior AyliGrace Munro's (Bar Harbor, ME / Mount Desert Island) second place finish in 2022. Hayden was also named First Team All-Conference for the second straight year,
 
Munro also earned First Team All-Conference honors, doing so for the second straight season as well as the final selection in 11th place, finishing at 26:40.3.
 
Senior Erin Wilson (Southampton, PA / Calvary Christian) earned a Second Team All-Conference nod, her first year with All-Conference recognition, finishing at 28:02.17 in 20th place. Junior Morgan Steele (Bowie, MD / Estele Christian) was the fourth Highlander recognized, making it onto the Third Team All-Conference, her first year recognized as well, completing the 6K in 29:53.6 in 29th, a personal best.
