Box Score Langhorne, PA- Seeking to reach .500 in tonight's match against the Tomcats of Thiel College, the Highlanders were unable to find their groove and were quickly dispatched 3-0.

The Highlanders were blitzed right out of the gate by the Tomcats as they fell down 14-6 early in the first set.  Continually blocked by the Tomcats steady defense Cairn could not find a pivotal kill that would jump start their offense.  Trailing from the outset the Highlanders dropped the first set, 25-14.  The Highlanders came out rejuvenated in the second set hoping to rebound from a disappointing first.  Despite trailing early Cairn fought back, bringing the game to within three points at multiple instances in the second set, due to some hot-hitting by Randall Colson.  Notwithstanding the Highlanders restored effort of the second the set, Cairn still fell 25-18.  The Highlanders disappointing night continued in the third set as they fell down early and were unable to comeback, losing 25-13.  



Cairn was led tonight by their outside and opposite hitters, Josiah Buss and Randall Colson.  Buss finished the night with eight kills and three digs and Colson tallied eight kills and two blocks.  Additionally on the defensive end, Matthew Rhodes led the Highlanders with seven digs.  

The Highlanders will face off against the number two ranked team in the nation, Juniata College, tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 PM.  Hopefully Cairn can put forth a better effort and complete the upset.
