Harrisonburg, VA - Cairn University's men's volleyball takes one out of three matches in Harrisonburg, Va over the weekend, while senior
Noah Prickett reached his 1,000th kill in the process.
Prickett came into this weekend needing 33 kills to reach 1,000 for his career.
Cairn University took down Thiel College in between a pair of defeats against Eastern Mennonite University and #3 Juniata College.
In their opening match, the Highlanders triumphed over Thiel College 3-2. Prickett had a monster of a match, slamming a career-high 28 kills, committing only one attack error in the process, and moving 5 shy of 1,000.
Stephen Hirsch also racked up a career-high 19 kills and a game-high 20 digs. Setter
Jon Wilson notched an incredible 64 assists.
In a heart-breaker, the Highlanders let slip their second 2-0 lead of the week, falling 3-2 to Eastern Mennonite. The Highlanders took the first two sets in similar fashion, 25-23 in both. The Royals would roll off three-straight sets for the come-from-behind win. Prickett once again paced Cairn with a game-high 17 kills.
Josh Tuttle chipped in with 14 kills. Jon Wilson reached 55 assists.
With his 17 kills, Prickett surpassed 1,000 kills for his career, becoming only the third player in Cairn history to reach the milestone.
In their final match of the weekend, Cairn faced #3 ranked Juniata College. The Highlanders took an early lead with a 25-19 first set win, before the Eagles rallied with three set wins in a row. Prickett capped his exceptional weekend with 13 kills while Wilson tallied 34 assists.
Following the weekend's action, the Highanders sit at 6-12 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Cairn's all-time career kills leader is Justin Brubaker with 2,229. Leandro Dueck is 2nd all-time with 1,492.
