Men's Volleyball Closeout Season in MIT Scrambler

Cambridge, MA - Philadelphia Biblical University closed out its men's volleyball season in the MIT Scrambler tournament this weekend up in Massachusetts and faced some of the best teams in the country.

The Crimson Eagles took 3 sets during the weekend but went 0-4.

PBU started off with an 0-3 defeat at the hands of #2 Springfield on Friday before falling to #13 Elmira later in the day. PBU and Elmira met three times during the 2012 season. Elmira takes the season series 2-1, winning 3-0 back on Jan. 28. PBU won a 3-2 decision against Elmira about two weeks ago. On Friday, Elmira won 3-1.

On Saturday, the schedule was just as tough at the Crimson Eagles faced #11 Massachusetts Institute of Technology and #8 Medaille.

Against host MIT, the Crimson Eagles started very strong winning the first two sets; 25-22 and 25-12. The #11 team in the country, however, stormed back and stole a come-from-behind victory with three very close sets. MIT took the 3rd set 25-22 and had to fight to even the sets up at 2 apiece with a 26-24 win in the 4th set. The host had a little easier time of it with momentum on their side, winning 15-7 in the final set.

#8 Medaille swept the Crimson Eagles, 3-0, in the final game of the season for PBU.
