Men's Volleyball Extends Unbeaten Run; Snaps Keans Streak

Langhorne, PA - It was a very entertaining match between two sides riding high on winning streaks, but there are no ties in volleyball... someone's streak must come to an end.

The opening set was very emotional and tightly contested. You could tell neither side wanted to conceed the first set as PBU and Kean fought into extra points to determine a winner of the opening stanza, but it would be the Cougars coming out on top and gaining the upperhand, 31-29.

With momentum on Kean's side and with PBU suffering such a draining loss in the opening set, you could be forgiven if you expected the Cougars to come out the stronger side in the 2nd set. But it was the Crimson Eagles who emphatically knotted the score at 1-1 with 25-16 set win.

It may look strange on paper, but PBU only recorded 4 kills in the third set but still managed to come out 25-18 winners to take 2-1 lead.

Kean would put up a fight in the 4th set but couldn't stop the high-flying Crimson Eagles as PBU sealed the victory with a 25-22 win and put an end to Kean's streak of 6 wins in a row.

The win extended PBU's winning streak to 5 in a row.

Josh Tuttle (Eastport. NY / Eastport) slammed home 16 kills on the night, closely followed by teammate Noah Prickett (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury) with 13 kills.

Defensively, Josiah Buss (Rochester, NY / Hilton) came up with 14 digs while Nate Seidle (Plumsteadville, PA / Central Bucks West) six block assists to go with his one solo block.

Jon Wilson (Allentown, PA / Parkland) collected 41 assists.

Kean had three different players finish in double-digit kills; Steve Vahalla (13), John Cunningham (12), and Christian Portera (12).

The loss drops Kean to 17-5. PBU improves to 10-13.

This Saturday, PBU will host nationally ranked Elmira College at 11am before taking on the Chargers of Lancaster Bible. Earlier in the year, PBU dropped a 0-3 decision to Elmira but also recorded a 3-0 victory over LBC.
