Langhorne, PA
- Philadelphia Biblical University's men's volleyball team entered Saturday with three losses and no wins in their matches against Eastern Mennonite University and Ramapo College this year. That record was drastically different when the dust settled over the weekend.

In the day's opening match, the Crimson Eagles took on the Royals of EMU. Having dropped both decisions within the last month against EMU, you might suspect that Eastern Mennonite simply has PBU's number this season. The Crimson Eagles changed that.

PBU won a hotly contested opening set, 25-23, in which both sides remained within 3 points of each other at all times. The second set jut about followed the same pattern. Eastern Mennonite looked likely to run away with things early on when they jumped to a 6-1 lead, but the Crimson Eagles fought back to even things at 12 all. At that point, the sides again battled back-and-forth before the Royals prevailed 25-22 to knot the contest at 1-1.

In the crucial 3rd set, the Crimson Eagles used a 5-1 run late on with the score tied 15-15 to open up a 20-16 lead. From that point, they took control of the match. They would close out the set 25-22 winners and a 2-1 lead into the 4th set.

The 4th set finally saw some relief from the tense match as the Crimson Eagles rode a 9-3 swing midway through the set to create a 19-11 and eventually win 25-13 on the back of two late blocks from Josh Tuttle (Eastport, NY / Eastport) and give PBU their first win over Eastern Mennonite this season, 3-1. Noah Prickett (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury) blasted 11 kills on 40 total attacks for the Crimson Eagles to lead the way offensively.

A rematch versus Ramapo was next up for the Crimson Eagles. The Roadrunners had previously beaten PBU 3-1 on opening night of the season.

With momentum in their favor, the Crimson Eagles never trailed in the opening stanza. PBU led by as many as 9 points at one point but had to hold off a late Ramapo rally. PBU eventually claimed a relatively easy 25-20 win and 1-0 lead.

The second set was neck-to-neck up to 11-11. It was then that the Crimson Eagles went on a 4-0 run that they built into a 14-6 swing to close out the set. It ended 25-17 and gave PBU a comfortable 2-0 lead against their non-conference rivals.

Led once again by Noah Prickett, 12 kills, PBU swept the Roadrunners 3-0 with a 25-23 3rd set victory.

PBU's Stephen Hirsch (Iselin, NJ / Home School) notched 9 kills in both matches. Josh Tuttle was credited with 7 block assists in the second match against Ramapo while Nate Seidle (Plumsteadville, PA / Central Bucks West) also had 6 block assists.

After getting their revenge on both EMU and Ramapo, PBU's record improves to 7-13 overall.
